Kimball Public Schools would like to update the community on our projects. The first project is the grand piano fund raiser. On December 10th, the Board of Education approved the final funds for the $29,000 purchase. Over $20,000 was raised by the benefit concert, grants and donations. The community support has been outstanding. We are very proud to be upgrading our fine arts department. We are hoping the grand piano will be in place for our spring concerts and the musical which is scheduled for May 2nd and 3rd. An upcoming release will give more details on the musical. We are also very proud to be bringing musicals back to the stage at Kimball.
The second project is the addition at the high school. On December 10th, the Board of Education approved the low bidder (Anderson & Shaw) with a bid of $1,978,668. The board also approved two additional updates totaling $17,705. We are currently in the demolition phase of the project. The general contractor’s bid called for a 250 day work schedule.
