

There is a new page added – Holiday Activities. These are online and printable activities for students to do over the holidays when they just can’t think of anything else to do.
Have fun with them.
Google and Yahoo aren’t always the best search engines to use. Thanks to Joyce Valenza and her blog The NeverEnding Search on the School Library Journal Website for the posters on three topics: Kids’ Search Tools, Kids’ Reference, Kids’ Video Search. These posters will give you some places to start looking. Take a look and discover something new.
Check out the AR widget in the left column. It contains up to date stats on the number of books and the number of words our school has read so far this year.

ere announced today in the Book Fair Drawing
Four students won a $5 certificate toward the purchase of a book at the fair. Winners were Trent R, Dusty B, Baily D, Tony M. Six students won a Halloween goody bag. Winners were Daniel A, Austin A, Jett R, Kaleb M, Bailey S, Sam H.
There is still time to enter the Guess How Many Seeds in the Pumpkin Contest. The first graders will be counting the seeds next week.
This week is Book Fair. We will be open after school. Next Monday Book Fair will be open during Parent-Teacher Conferences. Stop by and take a look at the selection of books and enter drawing for prizes. The sales from the Book Fair will help purchase books for our library. Drawing for prizes will be Friday.
While you are there enter the “Guess How Many Seeds” contest. Take a look at our giant pumpkin and guess how many seeds are in the pumpkin. Our fantastic first graders will count the seeds next week. Winners announced before Halloween.
