dsc_0014.jpgI hail from a ranch in the Flint Hills of Kansas, about 30 miles south of Manhattan, where I was born and raised. I have 3 daughters Shilo, Lacie and Desiree’. Shilo the oldest has a business administration degree and is a stay at home mother of 4. Her husband Tim works for the railroad. Lacie is a radiological Tech and works at K-Stat Emergency Care Center in Manhattan, Kansas. Desiree’ is a sophomore on a rodeo scholarship attending Pratt Community College, Pratt, Kansas and majoring in farm and ranch management.I have 18 years of teaching experience, with 17 years in the Council Grove, Kansas school district where I taught technology, music, history, Kansas history, art, tech lab, reading and language arts at Prairie Heights Middle School. My husband, Byron and I, have been married forever and his employment on Blue Creek Ranch is what brought us to Nebraska. We also still own and maintain our ranch in the Flint Hills. The love of my life, (aside from my family) is and has always been my horses. Our family has always been involved in horse shows, rodeos and cutting contest along with 4-H, district and state and many, many trail rides. In my spare time I enjoy playing the piano and banjo. I played honky tonk piano for 10 years at the Hays House restaurant in Council Grove and was the organist for the United Methodist church for 25 years.I own and operate Cripple Creek Portrait studio and take professional portraits for events, weddings, seniors and rodeos.

Very nice…very nice indeed! I want a blog, but I want the kids to have one, too, so we can all chit chat. Is this free and can kids do it, too? My kids could chit chat with your kids like blog pals.

But all that aside I’m really writing to say HAPPY 50th BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!

LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU!!! - KACIE
